Teaching English in Saint Vincent and the GrenadinesBack to Tefl World

The country of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is comprised of the main island of Saint Vincent and a group of smaller islands known as the Grenadines, which lie at the edge of the Caribbean Sea as it flows into the Atlantic Ocean.  If you’ve seen the Pirates of the Caribbean films, then you’ve had a glimpse of the islands.  The films have boosted the economy due to the extra tourists they have drawn to the islands which previously relied heavily on the export of bananas.  The English-speaking islands have a population of just over 102,000 which helps explain why it’s rare to see TEFL positions advertised outside of the country.  If you are keen to teach there, you could try contacting one of its educational institutions to enquire about career opportunities.  You should check which vaccinations you might need if you are going to live on the islands.
