Teaching English in NamibiaBack to Tefl World

Namibia is a south-western African country situated between the Namib and Kalahari deserts and with a coastline that runs along the Atlantic Ocean.  The country is considered to have one of the world’s most successful emerging economies which has been boosted by tourists flocking to observe Africa’s wildlife in its natural habitat.  Almost 10% of Namibia’s GDP is spent on education which is free for its citizens up to grade 12.  Namibia’s official language is English which might explain why so few TEFL positions are advertised outside of the country.  If you are keen to work there, then you could try contacting one of its educational establishments to enquire about career opportunities.   Remember to have the full list of vaccinations which are needed for Namibia  – the rabies vaccination sometimes needs a course of injections which require up to a month to complete before you depart for the country.
