Bhutan is a small Buddhist kingdom located high up in the eastern Himalayas. One of its most famous scenes is that of the Tiger’s Nest: a monastery which seems to cling to a cliff face high up in the mountains – this is just one of the many stunning sites which draws hikers from all over the world. The number of visitors entering Bhutan is restricted; it’s the only country in the world which has a GDH ranking – Gross Domestic Happiness – these facts help understand the nation’s values. Fortunately for TEFL teachers there are jobs advertised throughout the year, particularly by the Canadian Bhutan Foundation.
