Tajikistan is a landlocked country in Central Asia which has borders with China, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.  Its mountains often exceed 5000 meters and draw climbers and hikers from all over the world.  Almost half of its GDP comes from overseas remittances, mostly from Tajikistanis working in Russia.  It’s rare to see TEFL positions for Tajikistan, when they are advertised they are usually for institutions in the capital, Dushanbe.  If you are looking for a TEFL position in Tajikistan, then you might try sending one of its schools or NGOs a prospective CV and covering letter asking about career opportunities.   Remember to have the full list of vaccinations which are needed for Tajikistan– the rabies vaccination sometimes needs a course of injections which require up to a month to complete before you depart for the country.
