Teaching English in MexicoBack to Tefl World

There’s a steady trickle of TEFL jobs which appear throughout the year for Mexico.  It’s a deceptively big country which lies between the USA and Central America with a population of over 120 million.  Mexico has a beautiful and diverse landscape studded with the remains of the Aztec and Mayan civilizations.  TEFL teachers usually earn a respectable local salary at language schools, but there are better packages to be had at its colleges and universities.

Let me share the experience of the last few hours with you.

To be uncertain of what exactly is about to be unleashed on you, who you will meet, what you will do, see, eat, hear, be, and how you will FEEL about it all is certainly thrilling. In the end, I always like the idea of moving on. It makes room for the new stuff to come through.

Places I would like to revisit after the lockdown Monday 15 Jun 2020

In these strange times it’s nice to reflect on what makes TEFL such a great job – the wonderful places you have experienced around the world as a teacher.  Over the last few months in lockdown I’ve made a list of some of the places I would like to revisit after the pandemic is over.  The whole process is quite cathartic and has reenergised that wanderlust that resides deep down in the souls of TEFLers.  Here are a few from my list:
