Teaching English in South KoreaBack to Tefl World

There are hundreds of language schools (known as Hogwans) in South Korea employing thousands of TEFL teachers.  While the salaries are not quite as high as Japan the cost of living is cheaper, so much so that many people always eat out at the fantastic Korean restaurants. The more experienced TEFL teachers should look for employment at universities where the working hours are usually fewer and the salary is sometimes better.  As with Japan and Hong Kong you might be able to get an English teaching job here without a TEFL certificate as many schools have their own teacher training.
