Kiribati is an island nation consisting of 33 coral atolls on the equator in the central Pacific Ocean. Its 100,000 English-speaking population is spread over the islands, although many are uninhabited. The first nine years of education is free on the islands, with most students who wish to attend tertiary institutions going overseas to study, particularly in Fiji. This partly explains why so few TEFL positions are advertised for the islands. If you are keen to work there, then you could try contacting one of its schools. Remember to check which vaccinations are needed for Kiribati a couple of months before you depart for the islands.
