Kazakhstan is a vast oil- and gas-rich country in Central Asia.  Although Astana is the capital most TEFL jobs seem to be found in the country's biggest city Almaty.  There are numerous language schools which hire teachers throughout the year and offer very respectable salaries.  Kazakhstan lives up to the origins of its name: Kazakh means ‘to wander’ which seems to have spurred on its people to explore the vast steppes which make up most of this state, the world's largest landlocked country.
