Teaching English in Equatorial GuineaBack to Tefl World

Equatorial Guinea is a country on the western side of Central Africa with a coastline on the Gulf of Guinea, near the equator, hence the country’s name.  Education is free for children aged 6 – 14 which has been boosted by the support of a variety of overseas agencies.  The country discovered oil reserves in 1996 which will hopefully also help improve the level of education in the country.  If you are keen to work there, then you could try contacting one of the many voluntary organisations, NGOs based in the country, or its university in the capital, Malabo, to ask about career opportunities.  Remember to have the full list of vaccinations which are needed for the country  – the rabies vaccination sometimes needs a course of injections which require up to a month to complete before you move to there.
