Croatia is an eastern European country with a beautiful long coastline running along the east coast of the Adriatic Sea. The capital, Zagreb, is located in the mountainous inland region which is dotted with mountain-top castles. A survey revealed that around 50% of the 4.3 million population are proficient in English which might explain why the demand for TEFL teachers in Croatia seems relatively low. However, there are TEFL positions advertised now and then and it would certainly be worth contacting educational institutions to enquire about career opportunities.
