Teaching English in BurundiBack to Tefl World

Burundi is a small country in the eastern part of Central Africa amid the African Great Lakes.  The French- and Kirundi-speaking country has borders with Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  Burundi is one of the world’s poorest countries and so most TEFL positions in the country will be with NGOs or voluntary organisations.  Check with your government’s foreign office to see what they recommend regarding living and working in Burundi.  You should also check which vaccinations you might need if you are going to live there.
