Teaching English in Burkina FasoBack to Tefl World

Burkina Faso is a landlocked country in West Africa which borders Mali, Benin, Togo, Niger, Ivory Coast, and Ghana.  School fees are around US $50 a year which is beyond the budget of most Burkinabe families.  It’s rare to see TEFL positions advertised for Burkina Faso, but if you are keen to teach in the country, then you might try sending one of its educational institutions or voluntary organisations a prospective CV and covering letter asking about career opportunities.  Remember to have the full list of vaccinations which are needed for Burkina Faso – the rabies vaccination sometimes needs a course of injections which require up to a month to complete before you depart for the country.
