INTERNET IN KOREA>

Korea leads the world in high speed internet access. Every house in every area is wired up to high speed internet access. The standard connection speed is 100 mbps.  If internet is not already set up in your apartment ask your director to help get it installed. It costs around 30 000-40 000 won a month.

Internet cafes or PC Bangs (bang means room) are very common and there are over 20 000 of them in Korea. They are frequented by kids and young Koreans who spend many hours online gaming. Internet access is from around 1000 won per hour. They operate 24 hours a day and can be a little smoky and dark, but very convenient.

You school will have internet access that you can use to keep in touch with home.
