STUDIO APARTMENT IN KOREA>

Your apartment will most likely have a caretaker or for larger complexes a security guard. Always smile and bow. He can help you out with many things. Don’t get on his bad side by disposing of trash in the wrong places. Koreans recycle all but a few items. Glass in broken down by color, food waste goes in one dumpster, paper and cardboard in another and plastics in another. Keep the security guard sweet with the odd bottle of Ginseng wine or Soju now and again.

Always keep your address, written in Korean, in your possession until you get your bearings. This is especially good for taxi drivers. If you ask Koreans for directions don’t expect ever to find what you were looking for. They are terrible at giving directions. To confuse things streets do not have any names. Pick a landmark and work from there.
